Passage Critique- The Money

I can't believe Sonny took that money from Cloyd's office! Actually I can, and was sort of waiting for it to happen but didn't know if he would actually go through with it. I was surprised at how nervous Sonny was in this scene, when he took money from other houses he didn't seem so nervous. I do think Cloyd had something to do with his nervousness, and the whole time while he was stealing he was thinking about what Cloyd would do if he found out. I also find it kind of funny that after he took the money he was sort of thinking about putting the money back, but said he could possibly do it. One reason was that he had crinkled the envelope the money was in. But couldn't he have gotten another envelope? I'm having mixed feelings about what will happen when Cloyd finds out. For some weird reason I'm thinking that Cloyd doesn't know that money is their? I could be way off on that, why wouldn't he know its their?
I'm sorry if your reading this and have not read this far ahead in the book, but you will get there sooner or later. If someone has read this far ahead and remembers where he stashed the money could you let me know? I can't seem to remember, I'm going to go back and see if I can find it, and then read ahead because this book is getting pretty good, even with all the slang and confusion.

  1. I agree that it was shocking, but at the same time predictable that Sonny would steal the monet from Cloyd. I mean he steals money everywhere he goes and is mad that Cloyd isn't paying him a single cent for the work that he does. I find that kind of funny that you think Cloyd does not know the money is there. He is very stingy with his money and tells Silvia what she can and cannot buy.

  2. Great review of that particular situation in our novel Ali. I love that you don't just write what you think and thats it, but you actually take the time to ask questions. And while I don't have the answers just quite yet, it's an awesome approach to engaging your audience and I really appreciate that by doing so, you made this blog entry feel more like a conversation and it has such a relaxed tone to it compared to stiff as in a typical review.
