The Flowers- What Will Happen To Sonny

So far I really like this book, its different from what we would usually be reading in an English course. Sonny is at a disadvantage in his life, he is to young to make it on his own and has to deal with people like Cloyd. But he is also old enough to not have to be taken care of like a child. Its a hard place to be for a teen, but he is a really smart boy and I don't think anyone realizes how wise he really is. I think that Sonny has some hard times ahead of him. Although he doesn't like Cloyd he's still trying to figure out what he's all about and why him mom is with him. My prediction is that Sonny is going to get into some trouble, probably not on purpose he might get pulled into something. Sonny knows that his mom is not happy. He's waiting for his mom to come to her senses and get them out of Cloyd's apartment. If she doesn't though I think that Sonny will take matters into his own hands and leave that place. I also think that the money his mom has been slipping him he's been saving and its going to come in handy later. Sonny says that he doesn't like stealing but he still does it and he likes to have money. This could get him into trouble if he gets greedy. I also think that Pink and Sonny will become friends, Pink is kind of weird but I believe that he knows the real story about Cloyd. I think this because Pink told Sonny that "when it comes down to it he would be on there side."

  1. So far I really like this novel too. I think Sonny is a very mysterious character. He says one thing, but really seems to mean another. I agree when you said he doesn't like to steal, but likes money. Sonny says that he doesn't like to steal, but he sure enjoys counting his money. He also snags about twenty dollars in each apartment that he goes into. I agree that Sonny will get into trouble, but I think that it will be on purpose based on his actions and his mouth. When you said Sonny and Pink might become friends and discuss Cloyd's story, I feel that Cloyd is not going to approve of their friendship and might be some conflict there.
