Prediction-Sonny and his money

Sonny now has a lot of money on his hands. His hiding spot is clever in that know body would really look their. Unless Cloyd thought Sonny took his money and thrashed his room. Right now I think Sonny likes the fact that he has a lot of money and isn't thinking about what to do with it right now. Before he stole the money in the desk Sonny knew he was getting low on funds and needed to get some more money. But he never talked about what he wanted to do with it, just that he needed more. I think it gives him security and power knowing he has a lot of money just in case he needs it. My prediction is that Sonny will use that money to leave The Flowers. He will drive his new car and take Nica and head to Mexico, where she can be Carmen (or what ever name she likes best) and Sonny can be free from  "the Cloyd". I know this is a long shot, Sonny doesn't even has his license yet but it could happen. I am almost done with the book and I still don't know what Sonny is really going to do with the money. Nica and Sonny are both trapped where they are and I think a perfect ending to this story would be that they escape together.

Passage Critique- The Money

I can't believe Sonny took that money from Cloyd's office! Actually I can, and was sort of waiting for it to happen but didn't know if he would actually go through with it. I was surprised at how nervous Sonny was in this scene, when he took money from other houses he didn't seem so nervous. I do think Cloyd had something to do with his nervousness, and the whole time while he was stealing he was thinking about what Cloyd would do if he found out. I also find it kind of funny that after he took the money he was sort of thinking about putting the money back, but said he could possibly do it. One reason was that he had crinkled the envelope the money was in. But couldn't he have gotten another envelope? I'm having mixed feelings about what will happen when Cloyd finds out. For some weird reason I'm thinking that Cloyd doesn't know that money is their? I could be way off on that, why wouldn't he know its their?
I'm sorry if your reading this and have not read this far ahead in the book, but you will get there sooner or later. If someone has read this far ahead and remembers where he stashed the money could you let me know? I can't seem to remember, I'm going to go back and see if I can find it, and then read ahead because this book is getting pretty good, even with all the slang and confusion.

Free Write-My mother always...

My mother always...drives like a crazy person. She drives way to fast and dangerously in a lifted tahoe. She also always does her make-up while driving, she sounds ridiculously crazy but I love her, she's amazing. She always has the best advice when ever I need it, which is a lot. She always makes pancakes on sunday and they are soo good, and makes the best quacamole ever! She always loves my brothers and I no matter what we do. She always says her name is Jay instead of Jeannine at Starbucks because they always get it wrong. She's so awesome, I love her.

Reader Response-Analyzing a Passage

The passage I decided to analyze this week is when Cindy makes a move on Sonny. I was not expecting the scene to go that far but after it happened I guess I wasn't very surprised. From the beginning Cindy has been very interested in Sonny, always taking any chance to talk to him and to invite him into her place. I don't approve of what happened. It would be one thing if they just did that but shes supposed to be married!! Also Sonny is so young, I'm not so naive that I don't think people at that age experiment, but how old is she? If it was in the text I missed how old she is. I also find it weird that Sonny has never seen Cindy's husband, but he's at her place a lot. And I want to know what is going on with their relationship, something must be wrong and I see it getting Sonny into trouble in the future. Nica is such a nice girl I would love to see there new budding relationship go somewhere.

The Flowers- Interesting Passage

Passage:
"Dead Deer," I said. What I didn't like even more were the three rifles on each wall rack. Lots of rifles. I could count them if I wanted. More than the heads, more than the plaques and the licenses. I didn't know about rifles except that anyone would know. I couldn't imagine what anyone had so many for. So many I couldn't look at them because they looked back to. I could see the dead heads below them. I felt like one of them, staring away and watching at the same time.

This is the around the third time that Sonny talks about Cloyd and his hunting. I picked this passage because its very stereotypical for the "bad guy" to hunt and have guns. Cloyd is the big bad boyfriend and he has guns and kills animals. In the book it makes him the superior to everyone else and I don't think Sonny is actually afraid of him but he doesn't want to mess with Cloyd as of right now. I guess I felt the need to pick out this passage to defend who I am. I am a hunter and I know well enough that it can be seen as something different to different people, but I know that myself and my family are nothing like Cloyd. Although I'm not offended by Cloyd, the potential bad man, being the hunter who has taxidermied animals on his walls, I wanted to point out that were not all like him.

The Flowers- What Will Happen To Sonny

So far I really like this book, its different from what we would usually be reading in an English course. Sonny is at a disadvantage in his life, he is to young to make it on his own and has to deal with people like Cloyd. But he is also old enough to not have to be taken care of like a child. Its a hard place to be for a teen, but he is a really smart boy and I don't think anyone realizes how wise he really is. I think that Sonny has some hard times ahead of him. Although he doesn't like Cloyd he's still trying to figure out what he's all about and why him mom is with him. My prediction is that Sonny is going to get into some trouble, probably not on purpose he might get pulled into something. Sonny knows that his mom is not happy. He's waiting for his mom to come to her senses and get them out of Cloyd's apartment. If she doesn't though I think that Sonny will take matters into his own hands and leave that place. I also think that the money his mom has been slipping him he's been saving and its going to come in handy later. Sonny says that he doesn't like stealing but he still does it and he likes to have money. This could get him into trouble if he gets greedy. I also think that Pink and Sonny will become friends, Pink is kind of weird but I believe that he knows the real story about Cloyd. I think this because Pink told Sonny that "when it comes down to it he would be on there side."
